Having made his IPL debut in 2012 as part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore, Harshal Patel had a glorious season in 2015, when he managed to claim 17 wickets for the team. To date, he has to his credit 43 wickets in 43 matches, with the best figures being 3/28. In 2018, Patel was bought by Delhi Capitals (erstwhile Delhi Daredevils). In 2021, he was traded by Delhi Capitals to Bangalore Royal Challengers.
He was mainly catapulted to the pinnacles of fame in 2019 when this fast-bowling all-rounder established a significant presence in Indian domestic cricket across formats. He not only added a couple of yards of pace, but also took his batting performance notches higher.
He was a consistent player in the 2019 Vijay Hazare Trophy, which saw him delivering some terrific performances in every match. Patel opened the batting and bowling for Haryana in the Syed Mushtaq Trophy. With 19 wickets and 374 runs in 12 games, Harshal Patel finished as the tournament's third-highest wicket-taker and fourth-highest run-scorer.
