The Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), also locally known as "The 'G", is a premier Cricket stadium located in Yarra Park, Melbourne, Victoria. Founded by the Melbourne Cricket Club, MCG is the 11th largest Cricket stadium globally and the second-largest cricket ground by capacity. For significant decades, the MCG has been a host to some of the biggest cricket and Football matches and other important sports matches, including the Olympic Games of 1956. The MCG is a gigantic stadium: the three-tiered Great Southern Stand bounds the perimeter of one half of the ground and holds approximately 50,000 people. There's expansive seating in the Ponsford Stand, Olympic Stand and Members' Reserve.
The Melbourne Cricket Stadium is all set to hold the Grand Final for the 2022 T20 World Cup.
Though players and spectators alike drew fire for the wearing of the pitch and low bouncing surfaces, the MCG has generally enabled well-balanced matches between bat and ball. The 22-yards at the MCG is considered one of the most competitive pitches in the world. While the bowlers get it quickly with natural bounces, the batters can play their strokes freely as it gets old. However, generally, the spinners do not get much at the MCG. Since 1996, MCG has been host to the drop-in pitches. The MCG will host six matches during the Super 12 phase in the tournament, including two exciting double-headers and featuring the two biggest rivalries in world cricket, plus the tournament’s Final on Sunday November 13.

It's the first time Australia will host the , highlighted by the Final at the MCG. Australia will enter the event as defending champions after winning their maiden ICC Men's T20 World Cup title in 2021.
